Curriculum Development Manager


Position Overview

Reporting to the Programme Manager, the Curriculum Development Manager is responsible for the development and coordination of qualifications and curriculum in the tooling and manufacturing industry in order to enable the implementation of the various qualifications within fixed timelines.

Build capacity, manage and implement of the tooling and manufacturing industry curriculum and training related curriculum and project elements and ensuring quality control throughout the project life cycles are central to this position.  Experience in working with stakeholders from the manufacturing industry, education and training institutions is essential. Experience in the QCTO and SAQA curriculum development and registration processes will be an advantage.


  • Planning, directing, executing, control, completion and evaluating projects according to predetermined timelines, targets, goals and budgets over a number of years. 
  • Management of cross functional diverse team
  • Qualification and curriculum development
  • Curriculum content development
  • Management of day-to-day relationships and communication between various stakeholders
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements for a training delivery environment
  • Quality assurance across the various qualification, curriculum and training institutions
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
  • Project evaluation and assessment
  • Examination and quality assurance of assessment activities
  • Quality assurance of qualification and curriculum development, curriculum content and material

Education and Experience

  • Relevant educational qualification/experience in qualification and curriculum development and management
  • Relevant technical qualification in the manufacturing/tooling industry would be an advantage
  • A recognised qualification in management, project management, curriculum development or equivalent
  • Experience in working with a variety of stakeholders as a manager/project manager
  • 10 years’ related work experience is essential
  • 5 years’ managerial experience is essential
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Own transport

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders from training institutions, project staff and industry
  • Ability to function in a team
  • Initiative and ability to work independently
  • Ability to work with diversity
  • Excellent computer skills in Word and Excel
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Be willing to travel often
