This position will primarily be responsible to support the Counter and Key-Accounts Sales Staff and their clients (installers and integrators) to successfully sell equipment and solutions to the end-users. The position will also do counter sales. Low level repairs and Go/No-Go testing on equipment will be done. Intensive repairs will be sent to Head Office repair shop. Compiling Solutions, Costing and compiling BOM’s and demonstrating technology will also be part of this position.
The application of the equipment and solutions are in the Electronic Security Industry and consists of complete solution implementation on end-user sites for CCTV, Access Control, Alarms and Perimeter protection and detection (including Electric Fences, Gate Motors and Intercoms).
The Sales Technician will be the primary technical resource for the Tier 2&3 sales team. The sales technician is responsible for actively driving and managing the technology part of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our products. The sales technician must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. The person must be able to identify all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction.
The Sales Technician will report to the Tier 2&3 Sales Manager and will provide both pre- and after-sales advice and support. This position will liaise regularly with other members of the sales team and colleagues from a range of departments, such as R&D, development, design, purchasing, technical support, services department and marketing, as well as company managers and technicians.
Acting also as a sales person the sales technician must help sales staff, installers and their customers to understand, compare, and contrast the solutions that are available for buying, to troubleshoot problems with their implementations—that is, to help ensure that the solutions work successfully and to maximize sales by providing such help to the internal and external clients.
The Sales Technician will also train and advise sales staff and installers on the products and solutions.
The sales technician must become a product specialist on all the SCW electronic security products and will also be involved with Workshops with Installers/Clients, Shows and Demonstrations of our products including pre-setups and configuration of equipment.
Soft skills must include: high level of communication skills (oral and written in at least English), attention to detail, stress tolerant, social skills, high Emotional Intelligence, conflict resolution, organizational skills and natural leadership abilities.
The position will also require from time to time traveling through-out the sales territory on client (installer) and end-user visits. The position thus requires a valid driver license.
