Responsible for supervising the production of new and repair Transformers, switchgear and Minisubs
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
n Manage the production facility. Facilitate an environment where continued growth and improvement is motivated and supported.
n Facilitate communication between the sales teams, contracts, and engineering.
n Ensure healthy communication with the procurement department for ordering of material, equipment and items required for manufacture.
n Responsible for manufacturing quality product, at the right quality with minimal cost incurred.
n Ensure production schedules are followed and prioritise any production schedules as the need arises.
n Plan, oversee and manage production staff. Identify professional and efficient equipping of the production.
n Monitor consumables & report shortcomings on inventory to facilitate rapid production.
n Train and mentor workshop staff.
n Ensure OSHACT and SANS standards are adhered to where applicable.
n Perform other reasonable delegated for the promotion of our business.
n Maintain discipline.
o Responsible for: time keeping, overtime, productivity, discipline, 5s, safety, staff motivation, disciplinary actions and other production related matters at the factory.
n Generate reports relating to production activities, and report back to management.
n Monitor KPIs and implement proper actions in order to reach targets.
n Ensure that the factory complies with ISO 9001 and enforce continuous improvement according to company policy.
n National Diploma in Engineering and/or equivalent experience in manufacturing related areas
n Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing management, overseeing a team of at least 60 individuals
n ESSENTIAL: Manufacturing experience on transformers up to at least 20 MVA 132 kV.
n Computer literacy in Microsoft office.
n The successful person should have appropriate knowledge in the production.
n Valid driver's license.
n Hard working, resourceful, ambitious and have excellent business acumen.
n A keen sense of urgency and a willingness to learn additional job related skills.
n Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
n Ability to provide excellent customer service.
